VMMS was proud to honor our April Mustangs of the month. Every month, the VMMS staff is able to nominate staff and students from VMMS who exemplify the true character of a Mustang.
Below are the individuals who have been chosen and what others have written about them.
APRIL MUSTANGS OF THE MONTH:
Grade 6: Patrick Campbell: I want to nominate Patrick Campbell 6th grade. He is a friend of a student in need and has been the best of friend to this student. He has been so kind helping her to start taking the bus, ensuring that she knows where to go to get on and off of the bus. Cheering her on everyday and being such an emotional support to her. He even helped me when I had to map out a new route for her bus. This kid is an amazing human being!
Grade 7: Saul Luna: Saul has made tremendous improvements this school year. He emerged from a quiet student, to a student who responds, participates, and presents in front of the class. He works diligently to complete class work and adds insightful information to our Social Studies class. Most importantly, Saul has a niche for creativity and art. His Egyptian Tomb replica was outstanding; his attention to detail did not go unnoticed. We thoroughly enjoy having him in class.
Grade 8: Dalara Jablonsky-Akgun: Dalara continues to impress me with her maturity, responsibility, and kindness. Besides being an excellent student who takes her work seriously and strives for excellence – she also takes on additional tasks and looks out for those around her. She’s the first to volunteer to help out, whether with a job in the room or to assist a classmate. Her involvement in Cheer, as well as Lead & Seed help her stand out as a leader among her peers.
Support Staff: Cathy Pomaski: Cathy is always smiling and goes out of her way to help all of the staff with their needs. She never complains and gets the job done. I can’t thank her enough for all of her hard work and dedication with supplies, returns and questions!
Teacher: Katie Guthrie: Katie goes above and beyond to provide the most effective care for her students. She is dedicated to serving her students and always has a positive attitude.
