VMMS was proud to honor our September Mustangs of the month. Every month, the VMMS staff is able to nominate staff and students from VMMS who exemplify the true character of a Mustang.
Below are the individuals who have been chosen and what others have written about them.
SEPTEMBER MUSTANGS OF THE MONTH:
Grade 6: Brandon Matusiewicz: Brandon is a kind and considerate young man, he takes his work seriously and has pride in his projects. He is always willing to lend a hand to a student in need and looks out for others. His warm smile and positive attitude are a great addition to the class!
Grade 7: Julianna Baughman: Julianna Baughman is an excellent role model for other students. She is committed to her school work and shows kindness to everyone she meets. In addition, she has shown great strength and perseverance in times of hardship. She is unwavering in her positive attitude and it has been an honor to have her as a student.
Grade 8: Skyla Van Schoick: Skyla is an incredibly hard worker, but also kind to everyone around her. She has started off 8th grade very well. Very proud of her for taking the chance at running for student council, even though it was way out of her comfort zone. She is an amazing, kind, friendly person and deserves to be recognized.
Support Staff: Mr. Sheperd: Mr. Shepherd works hard to keep our hallways safe, and he is always smiling at staff and students. Mr. Sheperd goes above and beyond his normal duties to make sure we are always prepared for any obstacle that may come our way.
Teacher: Matt Lafferty: Matt handles and communicates union matters in a clear and efficient matter. He’s been working hard to get everyone on board with the badges and promote unity. Despite how busy September can be, with a new team, new classes, he manages to find time to respond and address union concerns and help his colleagues. Thanks for always having our backs, Matt! Matt has been extremely helpful this year. Even though he made a big move from 6th to 8th grade, he is very helpful to the rest of his team. He has an incredibly positive attitude and has been very supportive in our new grade level and subjects. Can’t thank him enough for being an amazing team member..he keeps us on track, organized and he is always willing to share ideas!
