On January 13, 2022, 43 students of the Mustang Community were inducted into the Brick Memorial Chapter of the National Honor Society.
Attendees of the ceremony included parents, administration, teachers from various schools, members of the Board of Education, the upper administration, and our superintendent, Dr. Farrell. All were there to celebrate the 40 juniors and 3 seniors who have been recognized for their efforts in scholarship, leadership, service, and character by becoming the newest members of this prestigious organization.
Our NHS advisor, Lisette Rivera, was so excited about the event, stating, “This night is a beautiful way to celebrate the amazing things happening inside and outside of Brick Memorial. These newest members are sure to bring awesome things to our community.”
While the ceremony honors these select students, it also is an opportunity for the students to honor and speak well of their teachers, as each inductee chooses a teacher who has inspired them to be better people and better students. As the students were inducted, they spoke briefly about their teacher mentors, many of who teaches at Brick Memorial, but some who taught the students during their elementary and middle school days.
Afterward, parents and friends were able to greet the inductees at a lovely reception. It was a great night of celebration!
