Yesterday was a fantastic day to be a Mustang! After weeks of accepting donations for the 2nd Annual Brick Memorial High School Color Run, Ms. Stansbury and the Student Government Association pulled off one of the most memorial events of the year! With over 200 students in attendance, the Color Run occurred on May 26th and was a hit with both students and faculty!
This year’s Color Run was in memory of Allison Grasso, a beloved teacher who passed away earlier this year. Allison loved to have a good time, always had insane amounts of energy, and only felt a job was well-done when one got their hands dirty – so it makes total sense that the event to honor her was this Color Run.
Due to the overwhelming success of the Color Run, over $3000 was raised. The plan is for 12 seniors who are pursuing vocational school to receive scholarships in Allison’s name.
Donations are still coming in, and anyone who would like to donate to this amazing cause is free to Venmo the SGA advisor, Barbara Stansbury @Barbara-Stansbury.
Groups of friends, faculty, and administration were all in attendance, and many clubs even donated enough money to earn a table at the event! These clubs include NHS, Key Club, PALS, Brick Unified, Girls and Boys Lacrosse, and SGA!
The Brick Memorial Community is so proud of the work and dedication provided by the Student Government Association! Thank you to all who attended! We can’t wait to start planning for the 3rd Annual Color Run!
