Story by Molly Thamrong

On Wednesday, December 14th, the Brick Memorial Band and Chorus program performed their winter concert. The auditorium was packed the whole night with an audience full of good cheer. The concert was full of good spirits and festive songs from both programs.

The concert band program was led by Mr. Penrod, the band director at Brick Memorial. They performed lively holiday pieces, including “Ukrainian Bell Carol” and “An American Christmas.”  The jazz band made their debut with “Gospel of John.”  A stunning show from the Brick Memorial Marching Mustangs entertained the audience, as they  performed their 2022 show “Every Rose Has A Thorn.”

The chorus showed their dedication and their festive pride in their music, conducted by Mr. Bettys. The

caroling choir kept the mood cheerful with favorite holiday classics. The chorus sang beautifully in their performances, including “We Three Kings” and a medley of the Danny Elfman songs from The Nightmare Before Christmas.  The honors choir amazed the audience with a performance of “Shalom.”   The audience was delightfully surprised when the alumni of Brick Memorial were welcomed on stage to perform “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.”

The diversity of holiday culture made for a fun festive night that the audience will remember for many seasons to come.
