Today, students, alumni, and staff gathered in the Gold Cafeteria to help prepare our upperclassmen for life outside of high school. Many alumni returned from their respective colleges, but some took time away from their jobs to be here, and a few even came from their military careers. Established by Guidance and Administration beginning in 2004, this event has gone on to help many students get more educated about their futures either in the job field or college. 

Degrees present ranged from Art Education to Cell Biology; there were many different types of career paths presented at Wednesday’s event. Other alumni offered advice on topics such as dropping out of college, moving away from home, student athletics, and other things that often worry those graduating college, so this event was a great way to ease students’ minds. The alumni were very friendly and helpful, and many were able to answer the various questions that students had.  

During the second half of the event, the students were able to mingle with alumni and ask more personal questions, ranging from campus life to the educational environment at these schools. The room was split into 3 sections, Out-of-State private schools, Out-of-State public schools, and In-State schools. This helped to ease the already chaotic environment of the room and helped students easily find the people who would help them answer their questions. 

Overall, this event was very successful in both helping upperclassmen answer their questions about post-secondary life and to connect students with those who have been in the same positions as them at one point.
