Spirit Day

4th and 5th graders have fun 'mixing it up' and getting to know one another at lunch!

April 15th was a special Spirit Day for Drum Point Road School. Students and faculty showed their school spirit by wearing the school colors of green and white or other 'Dragon Wear'. The classes in grades 1-3 and Mrs. O'Grady's class were visited by pairs of students from Brick High School, who read a story and performed a skit about the character traits. The older students helped the younger students begin to create graffiti posters representing the character traits. When these posters are finished, they will be put together to form a mural that will be displayed in the all-purpose room.

In the afternoon, grades 4 & 5 participated in a Mix-it-Up Lunch event during lunch. Students were assigned tables so that they would be able to meet new friends. Students discussed given questions with their partners as they ate. Exit cards in the shape of butterflies allowed students to write interesting things about their partners. These butterflies will be displayed in the main foyer and hallway of Drum Point.

Thank you to the twelve Brick High School students, their advisor Mrs. Stansbury and the DP character education team for designing such a fun and meaningful day!
