Congratulations to 3rd grader Michael Cloud for being chosen as a
state finalist in the Doodle 4 Google contest. His winning doodle was selected from over 33,000 entries!
Have you noticed that the Google homepage logo changes for special holidays and events? These special logos are called doodles. The Doodle 4 Google contest gives students the chance to 'redesign' the Google logo based on a theme. This year's theme was "If I could do anything, I would..."
Many of our Drum Point students chose to enter this contest as an EXCEL assignment. The entries were judged on the 5 areas of artistic merit, creativity, theme communication, the supporting paragraph, and following the contest rules. The list of judges was impressive as they included included cartoonists, animators and producers from Sesame Street, Walt Disney, Dr. Seuss Enterprises and Pixar Animations. Author Eric Carle was also a judge!
