Dear Parents/Guardians of Special Education Students,
I hope this letter finds everyone at home healthy and safe. This is an unprecedented time in the world and it has certainly provided us many challenges. Yesterday the State of New Jersey passed an emergency regulation in order to help districts provide related services to our special education students. The regulation allows us to provide speech, occupational therapy, physical therapy and counseling services though remote online platforms.
In anticipation of this emergency regulation, our therapists have begun to create schedules and review caseloads to begin reaching out to parents. If your child receives one or more of these related services in school the therapists will be reaching out to you via email with a consent form that requires a response. The directions will be on the form for you to follow. Once we receive a response back from you, the therapist will add you to their calendar and begin to provide services.
Please continue to visit the district website for up to date information and as always communicate with your case managers with any questions or concerns specific to your child.
Thank you for your patience during this difficult time. Stay well!
Director of Special Services
